12/9/2018 - this week i worked on my master artist piece. the large circle is not part of my piece but the large rectangle with the small circle is mine. My piece is a 3d recreation of "Impression, Sunrise" by Claude Monet. The sun and the main boater man in the front are outward relief while the boats in the background and the waves of the water are inward relief. i used slip to recreate the texture of the brush strokes of the waves and in the sky. I didnt get to take a picture of the more finished piece before it got into the kiln.
5/2/2019 - This week my bust finally got finished and I really like the way that it turned out, I really like the glaze i chose a lot. My rectangular plate didnt really work out. It got too dry, so it was hard to add new parts to it, and because I added a huge hole to it, there was really no fixing that once it was dry. I got kind of bored with the rectangular idea and i put it in the slop bucket, rolled a new slab, and ive made a triangular plate. Im keeping with the same concept but not using the exact same construction method. I let this plate set out to dry so hopefully it will become more leather hard over the weekend.
